Thunderstone is the first system manufacturer who does not adopt the computers as usual. Thunderstone STB system is an automatic Kara-OK system with higher reliability and stability which is widely used by many entertainment places. The whole system is controlled automatically by the STB which is connected with the network, no disk, no person, and it helps to enhance the efficiency. The system finally fixes some tough problems, such as the bottle-neck in date transform, security copies, data stream control, and etc.. |

Nowadays, Kara-ok becomes one of the very important entertainments in people’ daily life, and it is not an unwholesome word anymore. Since people always go to the KTV when they are in leisure time, the equipments in the KTV have to be innovated as well as. Before Thunderstone STB appears, there were three generations of the traditional KTV equipments.
The first generation: It was from Japan and the Japanese bring Kara-ok into China. It’s in the songbook mode which is that users look up the songbook to find the songs’ serial numbers and input them into the system. The whole system adopts MIDI musical format and the replayed multiple videos, so that it does not take up a lot EMS memory. The representations are MALATA and JinYong, and this generation of KTV equipments still holds one part of the markets somehow. The merit of it is that the storage of the songs is large enough so that it’s called “Ten Thousands Songs” as well as its demerit is that the images are repeated and the timbre is not good which is not fitted for the professional balconies. This technology is rarely adopted by the professional balconies now.
The second generation: Its relying on the imported and expensive LD machine would burden on the users, and its outdated songs can not satisfy the people in new century. The speed of this generation is too slow and people have to strive to be the first. Especially in the whole-sale price KTV, time means a lot to the guests and operators, delaying on time would always cause the disputes between the guests and the operators. Therefore, to improve the equipment and the speed are imperative at a certain extent
The third generation: Selecting songs on the computers which was a revolution of songs selection system. It inputs the songs in the hard disk and the users could select the songs by computers when it improved the efficiency. At the end of the 20th century, there was a golden time of it. But good times don’t last long, when the technology of selecting songs on computer became cheaper(3 to 5 people can make a software) and the competition was fierce (more than 300 song selection computer manufacturers), the qualities of the computers were at the bottom. For a time, the clients and the KTV managers complained a lot, the KTV declined to be lowclass.

The system finally fixes some tough problems, such as the bottle-neck in date transform, security copies, data stream control, and etc.Fundamental of the System: To transform all the songs and images of Kara-ok’s into MPEG-Ⅰ(VCD) or MPEG-Ⅱ(DVD) files, and store these files in the hard disk. After the guests select the songs, the music files will be sent to the STB through the network lines and be decoded by the STB to play out the digital video and audio signal. After all these, the signal will be sent to the TV and the Kara-ok amplifier. There are no distortion, attenuation and disturbance during the transmission. The system is much safer and more reliable due to the multiple servers. |
